The First Time Ever Canine Mayoral Election!!

PAWS of Coronado is holding a fun event running from February 2010 through April 2010.   Coronado’s newly created, 1^st time ever office for Coronado Canine Mayor.  Owners of Canines who are interested in entering their dog as a Candidate (“Caninedate”) for this position may pick up applications at Napolitano Realty, Wag and Tails, Crown Veterinary Hospital or Coronado Veterinary Hospital.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES & Event(s):

Application process period begins February 16, 2010 through March 15, 2010

Media Blast begins February 16 through March 15, 2010  

Campaign period begins March 1, 2010 through March 31, 2010

Meet & Greet Caninedates,  March 25, 2010, 6:00 p.m.

 Pizza Party @ Village Pizzeria (Landing Location)

Election period begins April 1, 2010 through April 25, 2010, 5:00 p.m.

Winner Announced:   April 30, 2010, *5:00p.m. @ Coronado Animal Shelter, 1^st Street

Each vote’s proceeds goes towards the many programs that PAWS promotes.  Owner of the caninedate must own an establishment in Coronado or be employed in Coronado.  

Price of Votes:    $1.00   –   No restrictions on number of votes.  The Caninedate with the most votes Wins!

The Caninedates with 100 or more votes will be the Winner’s “Councildogs”, 2^nd place will enter into the Canine Mayoral position if the Winner cannot maintain or sustain the duties & responsibilities of his or her position; such as ride in a vehicle or wagon with the P.A.W.S. organization in the 4^th of July Parade 2010 & 2011.

Posters, signage, decorative bikes, strollers, wagons, etc. promoting your Caninedate is a must.  Please adhere to the City Ordinance regarding signage.

Winner receives a medallion necklace; reign for two years; place in the 4^th of July Parade with PAWS  & councildogs; trophy with the Winner’s name inscribed (to be kept for  two years and handed over to the next reigning Coronado Canine Mayor), gift basket from “Wag & Tails” valued $150 and a $25 coupon for bone biscuits, compliments of Tartine Restaurant.  Council dogs who receive 100+ votes will receive goodie bags.
